Our Craftsmanship Philosophy
Founded in 2005, Curated Quarters began as a small workshop in the Appalachian foothills. What started as a passion project for founder Elias Thompson has grown into a respected name in fine furniture, though we've maintained our commitment to small-batch, handcrafted quality.
We believe furniture should be built to last generations, not just seasons. Each piece in our collection begins with carefully selected lumber—we work with domestic hardwoods like black walnut, white oak, and cherry, as well as responsibly sourced exotic woods when appropriate.
Our craftsmen employ techniques that have been refined over centuries: mortise and tenon joinery, hand-cut dovetails, and traditional finishing methods that enhance rather than obscure the wood's natural character. Modern technology assists our process, but never replaces the skilled handwork that defines true quality.
Beyond durability, we design for daily life. Drawers glide smoothly, surfaces withstand use, and proportions accommodate real people. Beauty emerges from this marriage of form and function—when a piece looks as good as it performs, and performs as beautifully as it looks.
The Making of a Masterpiece
Material Selection
Each project begins with carefully selected lumber. We inspect every board for grain pattern, structural integrity, and aesthetic qualities that will enhance the final piece.
Precision Milling
Rough lumber is transformed into precisely dimensioned components using a combination of industrial machinery and hand tools to achieve perfect tolerances.
Joinery & Assembly
Traditional joinery techniques create strong, lasting connections without relying solely on adhesives or mechanical fasteners.
Finishing
Multiple hand-applied finish layers protect the wood while enhancing its natural beauty. Each coat is sanded before the next application.
Client Experiences
The dining table we commissioned from Curated Quarters has become the heart of our home. The craftsmanship is evident in every detail, from the seamless joinery to the way the finish feels under your hands. It's more than furniture—it's a legacy piece we'll pass down to our children.
As an interior designer, I specify Curated Quarters pieces for clients who appreciate true quality. Their attention to detail and willingness to customize makes them a preferred partner for high-end residential projects.
I've purchased mass-produced furniture before, but the difference with Curated Quarters is night and day. The bookcase I ordered five years ago still looks and functions like new, despite daily use. Worth every penny.
Important Information
All furniture pieces from Curated Quarters are handmade to order, which means production times vary based on complexity and current workshop capacity. Typical lead times range from 8-14 weeks for standard collection items, and 16-24 weeks for custom commissions.
We stand behind our craftsmanship with a 10-year structural warranty on all pieces. This warranty covers defects in materials and workmanship under normal residential use. Finish warranties vary by product and are detailed at time of purchase.
Due to the natural variations in wood grain, color, and texture, each piece will have unique characteristics that may differ slightly from product photographs. We consider these variations part of the material's beauty rather than defects.
All dimensions listed are approximate and may vary slightly due to the handmade nature of our products. We recommend allowing 1-2% variance in stated dimensions for handmade items.
Curated Quarters is not responsible for damage caused by improper use, accidents, modifications, or failure to follow care instructions. Our furniture is designed for indoor residential use unless otherwise specified.
Custom orders require a 50% deposit to begin production, with the balance due before shipping. Standard collection items may be purchased outright or with our flexible payment plans.
We make every effort to accurately represent our products through photography and descriptions, but please understand that monitor settings may affect how colors appear on your screen.
By purchasing our products, you agree that you have reviewed all specifications and understand the nature of handmade goods. Returns are accepted within 14 days of delivery for standard collection items in unused condition, subject to a 15% restocking fee. Custom pieces cannot be returned.
